Lorna Doone Farm apartment has the most magical location on Exmoor overlooking the 17th century packhorse bridge and the tranquil ford over Badgworthy Water. The tiny hamlet of Malmsmead is the heart of Lorna Doone country which lies deep in the valley below County Gate, and just a stone’s throw from the North Devon Coast. This glorious countryside with its unspoilt moor land, wooded valleys, rivers and streams was romanticised and beautifully described in R D Blackmore's novel, Lorna Doone, which was set in this stunning landscape.
This property is the perfect retreat for those that love the enjoyment of the outdoors. There is a wealth of long history and culture to explore whilst walking amongst the most beautiful parts of Exmoor. Close by are the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth which have something to offer all year round. Lynton is an attractive village with a museum and good range of restaurants, cafes, tea shops and craft shops. Lynmouth with its pretty harbour offers wonderful walks and several pubs, tearooms and restaurants alongside the harbour wall. Other attractions in the area include Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, The Valley of the Rocks, Arlington Court, Watermouth Castle and more.
